Every mission at sea depends on a network of people who make the project possible every day: logistics, maintenance, fundraising, research, translations, documentation, operational support, local outreach, technical management and communication.

But working on shore also means building public awareness and spreading the political meaning of the project: challenging invisibility, violence and opacity along Mediterranean routes by creating an independent civilian presence able to observe, witness and report what happens at Europe’s borders.

Keeping TOM alive means sharing skills, time, tools, relationships and collective responsibility. It means building continuity, presence and the capacity to act around a project that aims to preserve a civilian space for monitoring and testimony in the Mediterranean.

Without the work done on shore, no presence at sea would be possible.

TOM is looking for people willing to put their skills, experience and sense of responsibility at the service of an independent civilian presence in the Mediterranean.

Activities at sea require sailors, medical staff, operational support figures and people able to work in complex environments, sharing responsibility, care and the ability to collaborate.

We are looking for nautical professionals, doctors, nurses, reception and support workers, and people with experience in monitoring and documenting activities at sea.

TOM is not a traditional humanitarian mission, nor an individual experience: it is a political and civilian project that seeks to build independent presence, monitoring and testimony along Mediterranean routes.

Taking part means becoming part of a network built on collaboration, reliability and shared responsibility. Because a civilian presence at sea can only exist if there is a community capable of supporting it and making it possible.
